Kojo Pobee, MD, CMD, is the founder of MD for Seniors, a medical practice dedicated to long-term care that focuses exclusively on delivering physician services to patients where they reside: in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and occasionally in their homes. In this work, he also collaborates with home-health-care companies and hospice agencies.
Dr. Pobee earned his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Ghana Medical School in Ghana, West Africa. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and his fellowship course in geriatric medicine at the Loyola University Medical Center/Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital Program, also in Chicago. Board certifi ed in both internal medicine and geriatrics, he has also earned the American Medical Directors Association designation of Certifi ed Medical Director.
Medicine has always been part of the fabric of his life. His late father was a physician; his mother, wife, brother-in-law, a few cousins, and other in-laws are all medical doctors. He says, “If we all got together, we’d have a veritable medical convention!”
