According to HelpAge International, Canada ranked fifth in its annual Global AgeWatch index. AgeWatch is a tool that draws data from the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, International Labor Organization and the Gallup World Poll. It ranks countries based on enabling societies and environment, capability, income security, and health status.
