As Valentine’s Day approaches, it’s easy to spot the lovebirds in our Sunrise communities. Finding love in an assisted living or retirement community is not uncommon, and, as it turns out, it’s good for seniors’ health. A study conducted by Brigham Young University concluded that spending time with those you love has a tremendously positive effect on health and can cut the risk of an early death in half. According to the study, the longer life can be attributed to high self-esteem due to encouraging feedback from a partner, which also lowers the chances of depression.
